Sérgio Rabinovitz was born and lives in Salvador, Bahia. Painter, draughtsman, and printmaker, he studied with two of Bahia"s greatest masters of painting: Calasans Neto and Mario Cravo Jr. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Arts, in New York. He has exhibited throughout Brazil and his work features in some of the most prestigious collections in the arts world, such as the Bass Museum of Art, Peter Cooper Foundation, Window South Collection, Davison Art Centre (USA); Southward Art Collection (Buenos Aires), to mention just a few, and in most of Brazil"s major museums and galleries. Sérgio brings his tribute to Capoeira to the BCA House, in an exhibition rarely seen outside Brazil, as a solo piece of work.
